NAMI Peer-to-Peer is a free, eight-session educational program for adults with mental health conditions who are looking to better understand themselves and their recovery.
Taught by trained leaders with lived experience, this program includes activities, discussions and informative videos. However, as with all NAMI programs, it does not include recommendations for treatment approaches.
Who can become a Peer-to-Peer Teacher?
Adults with lived experience.
To become a NAMI program leader:
- You must be someone who is dedicated to helping reduce stigma and providing support and education.
- You must commit to leading a class within 3 months of training
- You must be a NAMI member
- You must be active in your local NAMI
- During the application process, you will be asked to provide the email of a Board leader at your local NAMI who can endorse you
